Frame Saver?
All frames are coated inside and out with a corrosion resistant black electrophoretic deposition (BED) coating. A frame saver spray isn’t necessary, but if you are going to ride in a wet area, a shot of Frame Saver™ or Boeshield® couldn’t hurt, especially in the lower part of the frame were moisture could collect.
Frame/Fork Weight
A 56cm frame weighs 5lbs. on the dot as sold, including all the bolts, dropout adjusters, cable adjusters, front derailer roller, and seat clamp. The fork with bolts and 350mm uncut steerer is 2lb. 10oz. Add or subtract a couple ounces for each larger or smaller frame size to estimate the weight of other sizes.

Our shipping rates are calculated and are not always accurate based on the varying weight and sizes of products. If shipping cost seems inaccurate we are happy to invoice you for the product and exact shipping, just shoot us an email with your product and shipping details. We are also happy to refund the difference of any shipping paid through checkout of an online order and the actual cost. Additionally, any bikes that need to be disassembled and packaged for shipment will incur a packaging charge of $65. *Canceled orders will result in a 5% restocking fee.
Internet Purchases
We are a bike shop, not an online warehouse. Bicycles purchased on our internet store have likely been built and displayed on our showroom floor. They may or may not arrive in the original packaging from the manufacturer depending on whether or not they've been built and displayed. Regardless, They will arrive packaged professionally in the new or used condition that they have been advertised with all new stock parts, unless otherwise communicated. Additionally, any bikes that need to be disassembled and packaged for shipment will incur a packaging charge of $65. *Canceled orders will result in a 5% restocking fee
Return and Cancellation Policy
We want you to be happy with your purchase. Please review our return policy carefully before purchasing.
ALL BICYCLE SALES ARE FINAL.
New, used, demo, discounted, closeout, special-order, and regularly priced bicycles are not eligible for return, refund, or exchange once purchased.
We encourage customers to confirm sizing, fit, specifications, compatibility, and intended use before completing a bicycle purchase. Our staff is happy to assist with these decisions before the sale.
Manufacturer warranty claims for defects are separate from our return policy and will be handled according to the applicable manufacturer’s warranty terms.
Parts, Accessories, Apparel & Other Merchandise
Eligible non-bicycle merchandise may be returned within 14 days of purchase with proof of purchase.
To qualify for a return, merchandise must be:
New, unused, and in resalable condition
In its original, undamaged packaging
Complete with all tags, manuals, hardware, accessories, and other materials originally included
Bootlegger Bikes reserves the right to refuse a return if an item shows signs of installation, use, wear, damage, modification, or missing packaging/components.
Restocking Fee
Approved returns of regularly priced merchandise are subject to a 15% restocking fee.
Original shipping charges, delivery charges, labor charges, installation charges, and credit/debit card processing fees are non-refundable where permitted by law.
Customers are responsible for return shipping costs unless the merchandise was shipped incorrectly or arrived defective.
Returns After 14 Days
Returns requested more than 14 days after purchase may be accepted at the sole discretion of Bootlegger Bikes.
If accepted, the return will be issued as store credit only and will be subject to the applicable restocking fee.
No returns will be accepted after 60 days.
Final-Sale Items
The following are final sale and cannot be returned or exchanged:
All bicycles
Discounted and closeout merchandise
Special-order items
Custom-order items
Installed or used parts and accessories
Labor and service charges
Gift cards
Items altered or modified at the customer’s request
Items without their original packaging, when packaging is necessary for resale
Special Orders
Special-order merchandise is final sale unless otherwise agreed to in writing before the order is placed.
Deposits on special orders may be non-refundable once the order has been submitted to the supplier or manufacturer.
Order Cancellations
Orders canceled before pickup or shipment may be subject to a 5% cancellation fee to cover payment-processing and administrative costs.
Orders that have already been shipped are subject to the applicable return terms and fees.
Special orders and bicycle purchases may not be canceled once the order has been processed or the bicycle has been ordered, assembled, modified, or prepared for the customer.
Defective or Incorrect Merchandise
A defective product is not necessarily considered a return. Manufacturer defects are generally handled under the manufacturer’s applicable warranty.
If you believe you received an incorrect or defective item, please contact Bootlegger Bikes promptly so we can determine the appropriate warranty, replacement, or other remedy.
Normal wear and tear, misuse, crash damage, improper installation, neglect, and damage caused by modifications are not considered manufacturing defects.
Refund Method
Approved refunds will generally be issued to the original form of payment.
Any applicable restocking fees, non-refundable processing fees, shipping charges, labor charges, or other amounts described above will be deducted from the refund.
Please allow reasonable processing time for refunds to appear on your account after they are issued.
Right to Refuse Returns
Bootlegger Bikes reserves the right to inspect returned merchandise and refuse any return that does not meet the requirements of this policy.
By completing a purchase from Bootlegger Bikes, the customer acknowledges and agrees to this Return & Cancellation Policy.
