Description

This year we've initiated the beginnings of winter class offerings and we'll be starting with a basic wheelbuilding class.

In this class, you will:

  1. learn the basics of wheel theory and mechanics
  2. learn how the individual components contribute to making a wheel
  3. learn how to assemble a wheel from start to finish
  4. learn how to bring the wheel up to tension and ensure it is radially and laterally true

The class will consist of two 3 hour sessions on Wednesday evenings from 5:30 to 8:30pm out of our Jeffersonville shop.  Each class is limited to 4 students.

The winter 2024/25 class runs as follows:

  1.  Wednesday, February 12th 5:30-8:30pm & Wednesday, February 19th 5:30-8:30pm

The class is $250 per student, excluding parts, and each student will need at least one wheel to build during the class.  We'll coordinate on parts selection and ordering 1 month before your rotation starts.  You will receive 20% off parts for the class.  If you are unable to purchase parts for your class we can offer loaner parts for the purposes of the class...however we encourage folks to use this as an opportunity to build and ride their own wheel, so selecting parts for a wheel(s) you need or have always wanted is a great idea.

The Instructor:  Matt is DT Swiss and UBI certified as a Professional Wheel Builder.  He has built hundreds of wheels over the years and has developed a repeatable and robust process.

If you have questions please feel free to reach out.  email is best method....matt@bootleggerbikes.com.
